PORTAGE | Celebrate the first day of spring at the Portage Chamber of Commerce March Luncheon. March 20 at 11:30 am, Woodland Park, 2100 Willowcreek.

This month’s speaker will be Attorney, Scott McClure from the Rhame & Elwood law firm in Portage. The presentation topic will be changes in federal estate taxes and Indiana inheritance taxes. Other topics will be the advantages and disadvantages of wills versus trusts and ways to avoid costly mistakes. Fact and Fiction, Tricks and Traps about estate planning, power of attorney and health care representation. Is probate really that bad? He will also discuss common misconceptions, myths and problems dealing with leaving property to family members, such as through co-ownership. Ample time will be devoted to your questions and concerns.
